Questions readers ask about the ISO 45001 Lead Auditor Exam Guide
Is it current with the ISO 45001 Lead Auditor exam?
It follows Candidate Handbook version 2.1 and PECB's essay format. PECB's English exam is now 80 multiple-choice questions, so check which format you will sit before you buy.
How are the 75 points split?
OH&S MS principles and concepts 10, the OH&S MS and ISO 45001 requirements 10, audit concepts 10, preparing an audit 10, conducting an audit 20, closing an audit 5, managing an audit program 10.
Can I bring the ISO 45001 standard into the exam?
A hard copy, yes. The exam is open book: the standard, your training course materials, your course notes and a hard copy dictionary. The standard is sold rather than published, so buy your own copy. This book quotes none of it.
Does it teach occupational health and safety management or only auditing?
Both. Two domains, 20 of the 75 points, test the management system itself: legal and other requirements, hazards in the workplace, the common causes of occupational accidents. Four chapters cover them.
What does it cost?
PECB lists the Lead exam at $1,000 and the certification application at $500. Train with a PECB partner and that fee covers the first attempt, the first retake, the application and the first year's maintenance fee.
What happens if I fail?
You wait 15 days from the exam date for a retake, with no limit on attempts. The results email lists the domains where you did poorly. Essay results arrive three to eight weeks after the exam.
How is this different from other occupational health and safety books?
It is built on one exam's blueprint. Every chapter maps to one of PECB's seven domains and teaches the competencies PECB publishes for it, from the auditor's side of the table.
Does it include full practice papers?
No. The self-test questions are short-answer and written for this book. Three full papers with marking schemes are in the companion book.
Is ISO 45001 Lead Auditor Exam Guide on sale yet?
Yes. It is on sale on Amazon in paperback and Kindle editions.
How long is it?
14 chapters, 402 pages. Paperback and Kindle.
Who is it for?
Anyone preparing for the examination it covers, and the trainers and librarians supporting them. It assumes you are a working professional paying for the exam yourself and studying in the evenings.
What is it written from?
PECB's own published blueprint, and the primary text of the law, standard or framework the exam tests. Not from a summary, not from another preparation book, and not from a model's memory. Each source is listed at the back with the date it was checked.
How is it weighted?
By the exam board's own published blueprint. A domain that carries more of the exam gets more of the book, so you can see where the marks are before deciding where your evenings go.
Will it tell me the pass rate?
No. PECB does not publish one for this exam, and this book states nothing it cannot trace.
Is it a substitute for the standard or the law?
No. Where the exam tests a paid standard, you will need your own licensed copy, and the book says so rather than pretending otherwise. Where the law is public, the book teaches from its own text and cites it.
Is Credential Press independent of PECB?
Yes, and that cuts both ways. Credential Press is an imprint of Verity AI Ltd. It has no affiliation with PECB, no sponsorship from it and no endorsement by it, and it has no inside knowledge of the exam either. Trademarks are used only to identify the examination the book prepares you for.
Are these real exam questions?
No. Every question was written for this book from the published blueprint and the published sources. Anyone selling you real exam content either obtained it without permission or does not have it.
What happens if you get something wrong?
Send the chapter, the edition date and the source that contradicts us to hello@credentialpress.com. Confirmed corrections go into the next revision and the edition date moves forward, so readers can tell which one they have.
Can trainers, teams and libraries buy copies?
Yes, through Amazon: the book page links to its Amazon listing. We do not sell direct, offer bulk discounts or send free desk copies. Individual readers can ask for a free reader copy on the free copies page; we ask once for an honest review, and nothing depends on it. Buying for a team? See credentialpress.com/teams.
