Questions readers ask about the CISSP Practice Questions
Which exam are these questions for?
The ISC2 Certified Information Systems Security Professional exam, known as CISSP.
How are the CISSP practice questions split?
Security and Risk Management (16%) 32, Asset Security (10%) 20, Security Architecture and Engineering (13%) 26, Communication and Network Security (13%) 26, Identity and Access Management (13%) 26, Security Assessment and Testing (12%) 24, Security Operations (13%) 26, Software Development Security (10%) 20. The percentages are ISC2's and the counts are this book's arithmetic.
What pass mark should I aim for?
ISC2 publishes none as a percentage, and no question or rationale in this book gives you one. Answer every question.
Are these CISSP practice tests 2026 current?
Yes. They follow the Exam Outline effective 15 April 2024, checked against ISC2's published copy on 30 August 2026. If ISC2 shows a newer outline, this edition is out of date.
Are these real CISSP questions from the exam?
No. Every question was written for this book and checked a second time by a different reader. A book that reprints real items is either lying or breaching ISC2's terms, and using one can cost you the credential.
Are these full-length CISSP practice exams?
No. The questions are grouped by domain. The real paper is 100 to 150 items in 3 hours, and ISC2 uses adaptive testing for every CISSP exam, so its length is not fixed.
Can I use them as timed CISSP practice tests?
Yes, in blocks. Pace for the long paper: 72 seconds a question. Work a whole section without the answers, then mark it.
Is every question on the real exam multiple choice?
No. The outline lists multiple choice and advanced innovative items. Every question here is four-option multiple choice.
Where do I sit the real exam?
At authorized Pearson VUE testing centers, in Chinese, English, German, Japanese or Spanish.
Is this enough CISSP exam prep on its own?
It is the practice half of a pair. The teaching is in CISSP Exam Guide, 14 chapters across the same eight domains. ISC2 also asks for five years of experience, and a candidate who passes without it can become an Associate of ISC2.
Is CISSP Practice Questions on sale yet?
Yes. It is on sale on Amazon in paperback and Kindle editions.
How long is it?
217 pages. Paperback and Kindle.
Who is it for?
Anyone preparing for the examination it covers, and the trainers and librarians supporting them. It assumes you are a working professional paying for the exam yourself and studying in the evenings.
What is it written from?
ISC2's own published blueprint, and the primary text of the law, standard or framework the exam tests. Not from a summary, not from another preparation book, and not from a model's memory. Each source is listed at the back with the date it was checked.
How is it weighted?
By the exam board's own published blueprint. A domain that carries more of the exam gets more of the book, so you can see where the marks are before deciding where your evenings go.
Will it tell me the pass rate?
No. ISC2 does not publish one for this exam, and this book states nothing it cannot trace.
Is it a substitute for the standard or the law?
No. Where the exam tests a paid standard, you will need your own licensed copy, and the book says so rather than pretending otherwise. Where the law is public, the book teaches from its own text and cites it.
Is Credential Press independent of ISC2?
Yes, and that cuts both ways. Credential Press is an imprint of Verity AI Ltd. It has no affiliation with ISC2, no sponsorship from it and no endorsement by it, and it has no inside knowledge of the exam either. Trademarks are used only to identify the examination the book prepares you for.
What happens if you get something wrong?
Send the chapter, the edition date and the source that contradicts us to hello@credentialpress.com. Confirmed corrections go into the next revision and the edition date moves forward, so readers can tell which one they have.
Can trainers, teams and libraries buy copies?
Yes, through Amazon: the book page links to its Amazon listing. We do not sell direct, offer bulk discounts or send free desk copies. Individual readers can ask for a free reader copy on the free copies page; we ask once for an honest review, and nothing depends on it. Buying for a team? See credentialpress.com/teams.
