ISC2 publishes 8 domains and the weight of each. This book prints the weight at the head of every domain and gives it that share of the pages, so your time goes where the marks are. 100 to 150 items in three hours. Every source named at the back.

What does the CISSP Exam Guide cover?

  • Every chapter maps to a published domain
  • 700 out of 1000 is not 70%
  • Written for the accountable seat

Questions readers ask about the CISSP Exam Guide

Which exam is this CISSP study guide for?

The ISC2 Certified Information Systems Security Professional exam, known as CISSP.

Is this CISSP exam prep 2026-2027 edition current?

Yes. It covers the CISSP Exam Outline effective 15 April 2024, checked against ISC2's published copy on 29 August 2026. If ISC2 shows a newer outline, this edition is out of date.

How are the eight CISSP domains weighted?

Security and Risk Management 16%, Asset Security 10%, Security Architecture and Engineering 13%, Communication and Network Security 13%, Identity and Access Management 13%, Security Assessment and Testing 12%, Security Operations 13%, Software Development Security 10%. Every chapter names its domain's share. ISC2 does not publish how many questions come from each domain, so the book prints the percentage and stops there.

Is the CISSP pass mark 70%?

No. ISC2 scores the exam out of 1000 and 700 passes, but it does not publish how raw scores convert, so no percentage pass mark exists.

How long is the ISC2 CISSP exam?

3 hours, with 100 to 150 items. Every CISSP exam uses Computerized Adaptive Testing. At 150 items that is 72 seconds a question, against 108 seconds at 100.

Is every question multiple choice?

No. The outline lists multiple choice and advanced innovative items, and ISC2 does not fully specify the second kind.

Do I need five years of experience before I sit it?

No. ISC2 asks for five years, full time, in two or more of the eight domains, and a degree or an approved credential may count for one year. Pass without it and you can become an Associate of ISC2, with six years to earn the five.

Are there real exam questions in this CISSP study guide 2026 edition?

No. Every question was written for this book from the published outline. A book or dump promising real items is either lying or breaching ISC2's terms, and using it can cost you the credential.

How is this different from CISSP Practice Questions?

This book teaches the eight domains. The companion gives you 200 four-option questions, split by the same weights, with a rationale for every answer.

Is CISSP Exam Guide on sale yet?

Yes. It is on sale on Amazon in paperback and Kindle editions.

How long is it?

14 chapters, 434 pages. Paperback and Kindle.

Who is it for?

Anyone preparing for the examination it covers, and the trainers and librarians supporting them. It assumes you are a working professional paying for the exam yourself and studying in the evenings.

What is it written from?

ISC2's own published blueprint, and the primary text of the law, standard or framework the exam tests. Not from a summary, not from another preparation book, and not from a model's memory. Each source is listed at the back with the date it was checked.

How is it weighted?

By the exam board's own published blueprint. A domain that carries more of the exam gets more of the book, so you can see where the marks are before deciding where your evenings go.

Will it tell me the pass rate?

No. ISC2 does not publish one for this exam, and this book states nothing it cannot trace.

Is it a substitute for the standard or the law?

No. Where the exam tests a paid standard, you will need your own licensed copy, and the book says so rather than pretending otherwise. Where the law is public, the book teaches from its own text and cites it.

Is Credential Press independent of ISC2?

Yes, and that cuts both ways. Credential Press is an imprint of Verity AI Ltd. It has no affiliation with ISC2, no sponsorship from it and no endorsement by it, and it has no inside knowledge of the exam either. Trademarks are used only to identify the examination the book prepares you for.

What happens if you get something wrong?

Send the chapter, the edition date and the source that contradicts us to hello@credentialpress.com. Confirmed corrections go into the next revision and the edition date moves forward, so readers can tell which one they have.

Can trainers, teams and libraries buy copies?

Yes, through Amazon: the book page links to its Amazon listing. We do not sell direct, offer bulk discounts or send free desk copies. Individual readers can ask for a free reader copy on the free copies page; we ask once for an honest review, and nothing depends on it. Buying for a team? See credentialpress.com/teams.
