HRCI publishes a percentage for each functional area. The questions follow those weights, so your score by area tells you where to spend your time. Not real exam questions, and nobody here has seen one. Every question was written from HRCI's published outline and the accompanying guide.

Questions readers ask about the PHR Practice Questions

Is this Professional in Human Resources PHR practice book current?

Yes. It follows HRCI's PHR Exam Content Outline that took effect in 2024, and the copyright page prints that edition so you can check it against HRCI's site.

How does the Professional in Human Resources PHR exam work?

90 scored questions and 25 unscored pretest questions in 2 hours, plus 30 minutes of administration time.

What score do I need?

HRCI reports a scaled score, and 500 is a pass. It publishes no percentage pass mark, so this book gives none.

Who is it for?

Anyone doing phr exam prep 2026-2027 who wants questions that explain themselves.

Are these real exam questions?

No. Every question was written for this book from HRCI's published outline and the accompanying guide. Unlike many hr certification books, it claims no real items.

How should I use it?

Sit one area without the answers, mark it, then read every rationale, including the ones you got right. That is the hrci phr prep habit that catches a right answer for the wrong reason.

Does it use the real exam's item types?

It uses multiple choice with four options. The exam also has multiple response, fill in the blank, drag and drop and scenario sets, which a printed page cannot reproduce honestly.

Does it test figures that change?

No. Questions test the rule, not a number such as the FLSA salary level that HRCI expects you to check on your exam date. The guide tells you which ones.

Which areas carry the most questions?

Employee and Labor Relations, with 40, because HRCI weights it 20%. Business Management and Workforce Planning and Talent Acquisition get 28 each, at 14%.

Do the rationales show the law?

Yes. Where a key turns on a statute, the rationale names it and says what it requires, so a wrong answer teaches you the rule.

Can I use it without the guide?

Yes, if you already know the material. Each rationale stands on its own, so you can study from the explanations.

Is there a book that teaches the material?

Yes. PHR Exam Guide teaches all seven areas in 12 chapters. Read the phr book first, then use these questions.

Is PHR Practice Questions on sale yet?

Not yet. It is written, fact-checked, typeset and built, and it goes on sale once its ISBN is assigned. Until then it is free to first readers.

How long is it?

223 pages. Paperback and Kindle.

Who is it for?

Anyone preparing for the examination it covers, and the trainers and librarians supporting them. It assumes you are a working professional paying for the exam yourself and studying in the evenings.

What is it written from?

the exam board's own published blueprint, and the primary text of the law, standard or framework the exam tests. Not from a summary, not from another preparation book, and not from a model's memory. Each source is listed at the back with the date it was checked.

How is it weighted?

By the exam board's own published blueprint. A domain that carries more of the exam gets more of the book, so you can see where the marks are before deciding where your evenings go.

Will it tell me the pass rate?

No. the exam board does not publish one for this exam, and this book states nothing it cannot trace.

Is it a substitute for the standard or the law?

No. Where the exam tests a paid standard, you will need your own licensed copy, and the book says so rather than pretending otherwise. Where the law is public, the book teaches from its own text and cites it.

Is Credential Press independent of the exam board?

Yes, and that cuts both ways. Credential Press is an imprint of Verity AI Ltd. It has no affiliation with the exam board, no sponsorship from it and no endorsement by it, and it has no inside knowledge of the exam either. Trademarks are used only to identify the examination the book prepares you for.

What happens if you get something wrong?

Send the chapter, the edition date and the source that contradicts us to hello@credentialpress.com. Confirmed corrections go into the next revision and the edition date moves forward, so readers can tell which one they have.

Can trainers, teams and libraries buy copies?

Yes, through Amazon: the book page links to its Amazon listing. We do not sell direct, offer bulk discounts or send free desk copies. Individual readers can ask for a free reader copy on the free copies page; we ask once for an honest review, and nothing depends on it. Buying for a team? See credentialpress.com/teams.
